Growing Up Fit Together helps to promote healthy lifestyles & fitness activities for students in Louisiana schools.

Childhood obesity rates in America have tripled, and today, nearly one in three children in America are overweight or obese.

Thirty years ago, kids ate just one snack a day, whereas now they are eating three snacks a day an increase in more than 200 calories.

Physical activity is an important component of a healthy lifestyle.

Engage in physical activity each day: children should have 60minutes a day and adults should get 30 minutes a day.

Children need 60 minutes of play with moderate to vigorous activity every day, but it doesn't have to occur at once.

Only one in three children achieve the minimum amount of physical activity they need each day.

The average child spends more than 7.5 hours a day in front of a screen.

Eating healthy at an early age sets kids on the path to a healthy life.

Sugar-sweetened beverages are the number-one source of added sugars in Americans’ diets 25% of young children eat fast food on a typical day.

Students participating in daily physical education exhibit better attendance and achievement scores.

Since 1990, Louisiana’s obesity rate has increased from 12.3% to 30.7%.
